Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by I am so glad you are here! My name is Karen. I grew up On Long Island and was raised in an Irish Catholic family. In 1997 I decided on a whim to move to Houston where I ended up meeting my husband. Almost immediately after getting married we started a family and our lives have not been the same since then!
Having children is the best thing I have ever done! We home school and when we are not working on school work we enjoy doing almost anything together! You can often find us playing at the park, in the pool, drinking a cup of tea and talking, or sitting at the table playing a board game. We are a pretty rambunctious group and we love each other like crazy! We love finding new places to escape to and just recently we have started thinking about purchasing a motorhome! Life is always an adventure for us!
A little more than a year ago we brought two pretty big German Shepherd dogs home and we are currently dealing with the chaos that comes with having young dogs in the house! Their names are Skye and Nova, and they love to be walked so often we will all go for a walk with them.
I am pretty sure I am not much different then you are. I love my kids with all my heart but some days no matter how hard I try I just don’t win the mom of the year award. I can be pretty unorganized despite always seeking out and trying new systems for organization! I am always looking for new ways to keep things under control. Laundry is my biggest pet peeve but unfortunately there is a lot of it with 7 of us in the house! I am not a big coupon clipper but I am always looking for a deal and trying to stretch our dollars and make healthy and affordable meals for my family.
When taking care of my family I always try and seek natural solutions first before I run to my doctor. I love being able to share what I have learned over time with you. I love sharing the tips and tricks I have learned in my 18 years of marriage. Thank goodness I have a sense of humor and can laugh at myself because I do a lot of laughing!
My faith is another very important part of who I am and I believe we each have our own unique gifts and talents that God calls us to use. I love to support and encourage others to take time to be still and listen for God’s calling in their life and I hope I can be a small inspiration for you.
